been pouring. rainfall total is over an inch so far in santa rosa and still counting. around the san francisco area lighter rainfall out towards daly city. san bruno taking you did you know to street level here. geneva avenue. third street out to 280. in the east bay you will notice the aerial coverage or the coverage of the rain is beginning to increase. so in the east bay at oakland we see some light rain right now. alameda. head out towards the inland valley. walnut creek pleasant hill south bay getting very spotty showers current wind speeds. 47 miles an hour gust at novato. sfo gusting to 44 and it's only going to get worse. here's the timing of it. tonight we have the heavy rain in the north bay. watch what happens at 2:00 a.m. it's still focus in the north bay. 4 a.m. slow moving could see thunder. stronger winds coming and really it continues with the east bay and south bay getting pounded 8 to continue am. after noon is when we start to see a reprieve but

another storm will follow significant rainfall totals coming. we have flash flood watches. wind advisory high surf advisory back with all the details in a few minutes. >> all right sandhya thank you. >> 7 news reporter allen has already seen some of the damage oul out there tonight live in santa rose along the santa rosa correct for us. allen? >>reporter: we are watching a graduate rise in the water of santa rosa creek but so for no threat of flooding. it has been coming down steadily and we are beginning to see the winds pick up but we haven't seen the hard pounding rain. then again it's still early. it's the first down tree of the night for this sonoma county road crew. this one fell acrosses side road just east of the town of windsor around 6:00 o'clock. >> over sat asian. old oak tree they are big. once the water up in the leaves the weight tips them over. >>reporter: crew lacking at long busy night ahead. >> wind picks up with the storm that's coming in and the rain picks up everything soaking in

and loading up in the tree they will start toppling. >>reporter: this area is expected to bear the brunt of the rain from now through the weekend. santa rosa has a well designed drainage system to handle heavy floods just in case the city emergency operation center is ready for a crisis. >> west of the city of santa rosa there's problems. you get low level flooding and again to south west end of santa rosa in here. >>reporter: flooding is a major concern in petaluma where employee at rs technical services are setting up make shift walls lined with plastic and sealed with more than 50 sand bags. if that doesn't work they have a small army of pump to back it up. >> this is only if it gets more than an inch or 2 or couple inches deep in here. these other smaller pump pull water down to 4 inch deep so hopefully stop it here. keep it from going that the building. >>reporter: this small company that makes storm drain

surveillance camera suffered major damage during the new year flood of 2005. but this time they say they are ready. back live at this point there's no sign of flooding. but there are a lot of emergency personnel and resources standing by. reporting live in santa rosa abc 7 news. all right allen thank you. >> the wind and rain are causing a number of small outages across the bay area tonight. pg&e says more than 3200 customers most in the north bay currently without power. >> let's go to pacifica where a high surf advisory goes into effect tomorrow morning at 9:00 o'clock. it's already in effect in the north basement you are looking at live pictures now from pacifica. obviously when the surf comes up people will be tempted to go out to the beach and lack at the waves crashing in or some surfers want to get in it. not a good idea. can be very dangerous. surf is not too bad at this moment live but the advisory expected to last through most of the weekend.

minutes to 3 hours. tomorrow morning probably be just as bad maybe even worse so be sure to check ahead if you have a flight to catch. >> did you know south problems continue at the burbank airport where runway lighting system has been out for almost 24 hours now. planes lined up at the gate as crew try to fix the lights on one of the 2 runways. about half dozen flights from the bay area to burbank were delayed tonight. jet blue, alaska, south west united cancelled most of the flights departing from burbank. >> developing news. missing autistic 16-year-old girl from oakland found in san francisco. her father tells abc 7 news his daughter was badly beaten. shy app white walked away from the care center tuesday night. she was followed by staff members to the fruitvale bart station where they lost sight of her. it's not mostly clear who found the girl or who called police. >> mountain view police tonight arrested 3 people in connection with sexual assault of 13-year-old girl. officers tell us it happened after a night of drinking. victim was

found near a school in mountain view. amma has the story. >>reporter: mount view police are investigating the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl. they say it happened here at either castro school or the adjoining castro park and playground last night. >> she was located in the school or park area by a couple witnesses intoxicated. and they called the police and that's how it started rolling. >>reporter: police learned the girl had been drinking with tw two, 17-year-old boy and 2 23-year-old man they have identified as mario pinto of sunnyvale. >> they all met at castro school or the park. one of those. the par took in alcohol together. then that's when the assault occurred. >>reporter: pinto and 2 boys arrested today on suspicion of sexual assault. 13-year-old is home with her family after being checked out at the hospital. john foster lives near castro park. he and his dog penny play at the park

daily. he hadn't heard about the assault. >> that's very surprising to me. there are always a lot of kid here from age of 5 up to teenagers and everyone seems really well behaved and gets along really well. fun place to kilometer and take the dogs. >>reporter: mountain view police still actively investigating the sexual assault but for now they arrested all the suspects n.mountain view, abc 7 news. palo alto police looking for the man who broke into a woman's apartment while she slept and attempted to assault her. police were at the scene on awe thorn avenue within 2 minutes of the 911 call just before 2:30 this morning. the graduate student is in her 20's and woke up to man wearing a hood standing in her bedroom. after a brief struggle the man ran away. woman suffered a a bruised wrist. police are investigating twhets break-in could be related to number of grow eption in the same area. >> tonight the operator of 2 smoke shops in the east bay are facing charges for siling legal synthetic trucks. undercover officers in fremont say they

another weather related call this time emergency crew respond to downed tree here. deputy blocked off a section of the road asthma written county employee cut the tree. it crashed during rush hour but nobody hurt. large tree came down in the melts of the street and brought down phone and power lines with it. >> tree look ins good shape. cut so far is pretty healthy so i don't know if it has enough moisture on it to make it heavy enough. it snapped off didn't deroot. >>reporter: big concern is what the impact will be when the rain does kilometer did you know heavily as expected. downtown san anselmo merchant well aware the worst is yet to kilometer this area flooded seven years ago and that's why stores aren't taking any chances. >> apparently supposed to get worse in the next couple days and we just are really worried that it could get worse and something could happen. that's why we are taking these precautions. >>reporter: well marin county resident bracing for rush hour

tomorrow. commuters should definitely expect some street flooding. live in marin count county, abc 7 news. >> all right lillian thanks. >> heavy rain is really beginning to advance and we want to show you live pictures from santa rosa tonight. >> look at this. monitoring the santa rosa creek there and there ace hand waving in the screen. gives you some idea that yes indeed the rain is coming down here in santa rosa. >> and it's only going to get worse. sandhya is tracking it for us very closely on radar tonight. here with the full forecast. >>reporter: the timing of the storm doesn't look good. getting closer. rain intensifying. winds are kicking up. right now winds gusting 55 to 65 miles an hour over the higher terrain. as you look at live dop ht we have our own radar on mount is saint helena. steady rain coming down across the nor bay. coming down heavily. santa rosa already picked up an inch. san rafael getting you down to street level. sir francis drake boulevard to larkspur, heavy rain right now.

pedro road san francisco out to the east bay you are seeing the moisture. take you in to street level radar where we see rain around the pre-situated yochlt mission street. market street. it's light there. in the east bay around san lee ann to, 98 avenue, definitely around oakland, castro valley, light to moderate rape right now and the wind are going in the south bay. alma deny expressway. san jose north first street lighting showers at this hour but the winds are kicking up and it will get even rougher for the morning commute. look at the sierra nevada some of the highest elevation starting to l and state route 4. strong winds morning commute. rain continues on saturday and it's stormy on sunday with flooding possible so let's get rate to the storm. it's a very large circulation. thing that concerns me about this one is it's slow moving. look at the moisture it stretches all the

way out across the pacifica. sub tropical moisture bill only allow the rainfall to linger. so it is slow moving and soake soaker. 11:00 p.m. tonight heaviest rain in the north bay as you can see here. computer animation takes you in. 4 a.m. we see the heaviest rain folk news the north bay. slow goin going. by 6:00 a.m. barely shift into the east bay. down towards the south bay and at 8:00 a.m. it's intense. continue to see strong gusty win. of course lightning is possible. isolated thunderstorms. we head into 10:00 a.m. hasn't moved a whole lot we are concerned about flooding issues. noon time we start to notice that they have rain in the east bay south bay and starting to get a little bit of a let up in the north bay. still rain will continue. periods of rain through the rest of the friday afternoon going into saturday. saturday afternoon we get a brief pocket of moderate rainfall there at 4:00 p.m.

then it just continues until the third storm hits us 3:00 a.m. sunday hopefully many heavy yeingts rain will shift at 7:00 a.m. down south and san francisco the east bay begin to pick it up. 1:00 p.m. sunday soft bay east bay santa cruz mountains we start to get a break up to the north 1:00 p.m. sunday. rainfall total are significant. close to foot. 10 inches in the north bay mountains. 8 inches in the santa cruz mountains. north bay lower elevation only going through sunday at 1:00 p.m. 3 to 6 inches peninsula. 2 to 4 in the south bay. so we have a flash flood the wind advisory is for gust up to 70 miles an hour. watch out for downed trees and power lines. flash flood watch smaller streams and creek may overflow. running through the weekend and high surf advisory is going into effect for the coastal yaertion later on tomorrow but already in effect in the north bay.
